The Pool House is part of an extensive brief that looks at the reinvention of a Listed Farmhouse Estate originally built in 1736. Now, simple in form, sleek and contemporary, it sits quietly alongside the Listed Farm Buildings creating an oasis of tranquillity. A modern aesthetic set against the craggy and weathered, providing a pared down juxtaposition of new against old. Old stone walls are joined with traditionally laid new stonework tying all the existing outbuildings together in one complex. The Pool House has then been inserted to close off a courtyard, creating a secluded sun trap for the family to spend quality time together. The nature of the courtyard setting provides a private spot nestled away from the other public functions of the stables and holiday let barns on the plot. Designated as a “Wi-Fi Free Zone” it’s all about the family, making memories and enjoy the glorious sunshine.
