Chamber of Commerce Business Expo | Helping the Built Environment Bloom

In recent years, there seems to be an increased moral understanding of what you should be doing to protect the environment. But of course there is still more that we can all do.

Whether it’s reducing the amount of plastic we use in our office or creating a master plan development of sustainable housing, at Mattinson Associates, we are constantly striving to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet theirs. Marketing events are no different to this. So, this year at the Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce Business Expo, our promotional material included pouches of meadow seeds in recyclable paper in the hope to encourage the public to plant mini meadows across the Island.

Remember that you don’t need rolling acres of land to make your own wildflower meadow. A patch of lawn in a sunny position can be transformed into a mini meadow, providing cover and food for wildlife. Let your garden sing a new song with the hum or honeybees. As well as being lower maintenance than a traditional lawn, it will provide great colour and interest from spring until the last dying days of summer.

So if you did pick up one of our pouches or if you would like one (yes we do have some spares!), get planting this summer to see a bloom in spring! Let’s make the Isle of Wight a precedent for sustainable living.
